Mention Sabak Bernam, the image of a remote rural area comes into mind. Not that wrong, after all this vicinity is at the northern border of Selangor. Long after all the cultivated fields. The government needed to put in efforts to ensure that people traveling and those on duty have a proper place for the night and food to keep them going. There are few Rest Houses left in the Selangor State and the coastal region here had most of them! In Sabak Bernam, there are 2 of them, one beside another!
|
The first Rest House is made up of 2 rows of low houses. They were in the design of a motel. Situated within a fenced courtyard and complete with ample parking space. |
The one that impressed us most was the second Rest House. This is a newly completed bungalow building within a matured garden |
On closer examination, the rear portion was an open porch with barbecue facilities. This whole place was in the midst of a coconut plantation. There were noticeable presence of birds from wild and wetlands! |
|
No food was available from both Rest Houses. Who needs food when the town center was only 10 minutes drive away. Plenty of "Ikan Bakar" stalls. The point that fascinates us most was the ultra new building. The absolute quietness. A prefect ambience for get away. It is understood that the cheaper Rest House was heavily booked. The larger Rest House, was kept in buffer with rooms at RM50. It was meant for use by dignitaries
