Rest House in Tanah Rata   We had no prior information of its existence. Then the new that there was a Rest House in the Cameron Highlands!!! We were excited.   But first, for our own record and for many who could not exactly placed the distances between the many township, a pictures of this road sign should help.

Hey Presto! It would not difficult to find. It was in Tanah Rata. Must be strategically located as well.

True enough, it is one of those bungalows that overlooked the Tanah Rata town center Here is a view of the town at that time. Our little Beetle parked in front of the shops on the main street.

Picture right below :- It was a large bungalow nestled alongside the other buildings of Governmental organizations. The pump attendant at the Petrol kiosk next to this building was unaware of its existence. That is how informed or interested our general public are . Very pitiful that this aptly conceived idea of a resting place was not well received by locals as a holiday resort. Usual reason - not competitive! So that idea and bungalow stayed abandoned!

The additional rooms or living quarters were extended to a separate building beside the bungalow. Was it intended for large groups or did they anticipated that the place should accommodate unreasonable size group bookings.

Also shameful to note that the compound of the Rest House was furbished with an enclosed tennis court. At its heydays, the courts could be accepted as venue for the Cameron Highlands Tennis Club!

Normally we abstained from comments, but this situation of this Rest House touches our heart.

We were not able to probe further as to the actual circumstances surrounding the operation of this Rest House.
