Fraser's Hill

 Rest House

The Rest house was a stunningly beautiful colonial styled bungalow. Perched on a noticeable summit. With long tradition as a low cost government establishment, the "people" had enjoyed the privilege. It was still extremely popular for the budget conscious holiday makers and large groups. That day during our visit, 2 separate groups of holiday makers filled the whole place.

It was one of those building in this resort area, that helped in projecting that ambience of being in Europe. Of course, its style of architectures did all that. But look inside. The spacious rooms, toilets and the unusually high ceilings. Points that our modern buildings in town do not get to see.

We were charmed by the tall windows and the style of architecture. Of course, coincidental that the building had also opt for pure white with black trimming for its external color. Part of its architectural design. I could go on talking about the architecture without a clue of how to elaborate the facts in a proper manner.

One level down, this vast playground was the size of several football fields. Strange, a rather large piece of flat lands surrounded by neighboring peaks and rolling hills.

A view of the Rest house from its entrance. There was a long driveway with its entrance point from the rear. Rather unusual this access was. The plot of land was utilized in such a fashion that main building took the highest point. The flat land in front of the building punctuated the vastness of its allocation.

Overall, in the early years, those who had made the journey here must have shared that overwhelming feelings of spaciousness and luxury.
