On the historical Bukit Melawati, there were 3 residential buildings for the District Officer, District Engineer and Guests!

This was the Rest House. It was well hidden among trees, fort and boulders. But this nice bungalow can only be seen when one was already up and traveling on the winding circular road.

In line with the status of the rest house or practice of the past, a covered car park awaited visitors

We were surprised to learn that the rest house served very good meals.

 Judging the presence of a large crowd, we can deduced that the place was a favorite among the locals.  Meals was around Rgt 7.00.

It had 7 rooms with split unit air-con. The charges then was a very reasonable Rgt 40 per night.

To increase awareness, work was on-going to install a gigantic signboard on the vantage point. 

The building was perched on the hill.

Sharing its compound was part of the Melawati Fort.

There were a few spots that you would be able to get panoramic views of the Selangor Plains. The off shore islands, Port Klang in its horizon. Off course the bridge over the Selangor River too.

This place fitted nicely into any program planned for Kuala Selangor- breakfast, good nostalgic place, seafood dinner and fireflies!
