In this remote rural district of Kedah, there was virtually no chance of finding a resting place for a night. But the more established township was hardly half an hours drive away. So, it had not bothered travelers to bear it. Wait for arrival the next stop! But what if you are on assignment to the area. Having the need to spend some nights around there. Then this was the obvious and only choice. |

This
fancy house within a posh garden. Brought out an air of royalty in the outskirt of this small community of Sik. From a road beside the hospital, a road going slightly uphill took us away from the busy main road. And into a much quieter countryside. |

For executives and government officers who had to perform duties in that district for a few days, the Rest House certainly saved these visitors the need to shuttle every day from larger nearby Sungei Petani. |

The broad driveway, this style of modern designed bungalow was common among this up and coming township.
Government offices and official buildings were taking the lead to show that country was moving into an new era. |

Many private kampong houses took the cue and thus the concept adopted by this nice looking building. Fancy brick houses in the land of wooden huts, was not a practice that was out of place. As expected of small town, that day it appeared the Rest House was not occupied. Inside the main hall, there were adequate furniture to handle meeting or formal dinners. |
